The community of Isaoye Ekiti in Moba Local Governmentof Ekiti State has rolled out drums to welcome the Obasaoye of Isaoye Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Oluwadamilare Olajide back to the throne.
This put an end to the lingering crisis rocking the ancient town for the past seven years, following misunderstanding between the Monarch and traditional chiefs over alleged refusal of Oba Olajide to perform some traditional rites which they claimed are very important to the culture of Isaoye.
Both men and women who came out in their hundreds to welcome Oba Gabriel Oluwadamilare Olajide sang various traditional songs to show their support and loyalty for the King.
At a brief party in Isaoye market square, the Head of Kingmakers, High Chief Joseph Ogidi expressed joy that the crisis had been resolved and warned residents of the town to desist from all actions capable of breaching the peace of the community.
” I want to advise all people in this community to desist from acts that can cause trouble and we should not in anyway rain curses or provoke anyone to do anything that can affect our peaceful coexistence and progress” said High Chief Ogidi.
High Chief Ogidi ” explained that Isaoye Ekiti had lost a lot of goodies from government and eminent sons and daughters of the community during the seven years that the community was in crisis, now we should join hands to develop our own Jerusalem (Isaoye) to rank among most peaceful and progressive towns in Ekiti”.
The Eyelosin of Isaoye, High Chief Cecilia Afolayan called for total support for Oba Olajide and prayed God to continue to give peace and stability to the town.
A Youth Leader, Mr Ayodeji Fasusi expressed joy that the seven years impasse was resolved amicably and appreciated the chiefs, women and residents for their support and promised the unflinching support of youths to the traditional ruler and prayed God to give him wisdom to pilot the affairs of the town towards meaningful development.
In his speech, the Obasaoye of Isaoye Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Olajide appreciated the people for giving him the privilege to come back to the town and urged those that have been offended to sheath their swords, saying that he would always welcome useful suggestions and ideas for the development of the town.
” I am ready to welcome useful suggestions and ideas that can make the town progress, those who have been offended should learn to forgive and forget, we are one and development of Isaoye should be the priority of every son and daughter of this community”
It would be recalled that Ekiti State Government had in September last year waded into the crisis in Isaoye Ekiti with a resolution that all parties involved should give peace a chance after the six months period given to the Obasaoye to settle with his subjects.
