Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says only dialogue can help resolve various conflicts in Africa.
The former Nigerian leader stated this at a youth leadership symposium held in Abeokuta , Ogun state.
Chief Obasanjo said the culture of peace and security must be absorbed by youths to ensure they promote peace rather than perpetrating violence.
He explained that rather than pushing forward narratives of hatred, negative attitudes that cause conflict and violence, it was important to embrace love and tolerance and take peace as very important for economic growth and prosperity.
Chief Obasanjo emphasized that youths must stand firmly against conflict and embrace culture of love which will bring peace.
According to him, the youths must be at the vanguard of pursuing peace, persuade those who believe in violence against such step and convince them that the way out is conversation and dialogue.
