The second Obalaaye of Ejiyan Ekiti in Ijero Local Government, Oba Adekun Adepoju has finally ascended the kingship stool as sons and daughters of the town welcomed him to the palace amidst songs and jubilation.
The people who dressed in a uniform native attires were all in happy mood to lead the monarch to the palace after the completion of the nine days traditional rites.
Addressing the people, Oba Adekunle Adepoju expressed gratitude to God and the people for the peaceful conduct during selection process and success of the traditional rites.
He said he would ensure that Ejiyan Ekiti witness massive human and economic growth during his reign with on all aggrieved individuals to come together to develop the town.
In an interview, some of the kingmakers expressed the believe that the emergence of the new monarch would open doors of development and attract government presence.
While speaking, the President, Ejiyan Development Council, Chief Ajibare Adepoju said he had no doubt that the exposure of Oba Adekunle Adepoju would be an added advantage capable of propelling the community to an enviable height.
Chief Adepoju who thanked Governor Kayode Fayemi for his support for the town, appealed to the indigenes of Ejiyan Ekiti to join hands with and contribute their quotas in moving the community forward.
The emergence of new Obaalaye of Ejiyan Ekiti came a year after the passing away of the former monarch.
