The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP Ekiti State, Elder Ayo Kumapayi has bee decorated with an award of excellence by the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ FRCN chapel.
The award was in recognition off the leadership style of the chairman, transparency and hard work in the running of the affairs of pensioners
Elder Kumapayi while receiving the award alongside his wife and other executive members charged Civil Servants to uphold integrity in the course of performing their duties.
Elder Kumapayi who affirmed that he had never obtained bribe due to his upbringing said there was always a reward for hard work and integrity hence civil servants should be dedicated to their duties with good conscience.
Speaking on the award given to him, the NUP Chairman thanked NUJ Progress FM chapel for the honour and dedicated it to all Pensioners in Ekiti State.
Elder Kumapayi commended the station for its unbiased reportage and for publicizing the activities of the union.
In their goodwill messages, some of the retirees including Mr Akinola Joel and Chief Rebecca Omojola described the awardee as a diligent and transparent leader who had shown exemplary leadership over the years.
Earlier, the Chairman NUJ Progress FM Chapel, Mr Olaniyi Alade who congratulated the NUJ Chairman said his exemplary leadership style earned him the award.
Also, the NUJ Secretary, Ekiti State council, Mr Kayode Babatuyi noted that the award was to set agenda for those in position of authority to promote hard work, diligence transparency and dexterity.
