Nineteen Persons Escaped Death in Lone Accident

Nineteen persons today escaped death in a lone road crash which occurred at Gbongan, Osun State.

The accident, according to the Osun Sector Command on the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, occurred along the Babalakin, Gbongan on Tuesday around 2:35 pm.

A statement by the Osun Sector Commander, Inyang Umoh, issued by the spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi, said the accident involved a white coloured Toyota Hiace commercial bus with registration number BDG756YH.

Ogungbemi blamed the accident on speed limit violation and a burst tyre.

She said 19 persons – 18 passengers and a driver were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The spokesperson also disclosed that the injured had been taken to a health facility for medical attention.

“Two injured victims were taken to Adeoye Medical Centre Gbongan for treatment, and the crash vehicle handed over to NPF Gbongan.”

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander, Mr Inyang Edet Umoh has warned the motoring public to drive carefully and maintain the normal speed specification.
