The Nigerian Institute of Building, NIOB has formally conferred honorary fellow of the institute on the founder of Afe Babalola University, Aare Afe Babalola.
At the decoration of Aare Babalola in Ado Ekiti, President of NIOB, Mr Kunle Awobodu described the legal luminary as a national builder who had contributed to the growth of the country.
Represented by the Deputy Chairman, College of Fellow, NIOB, Mr Timothy Ojambati said the recognition of the legal Icon became necessary in view of his credible legacy, not only in legal field but in all facet of life.
Speaking after his decoration, Aare Afe Babalola thanked the institute for recognizing him for such noble honour and promised to continue to work for the uplift of humanity.
However, Aare Babalola charged the institute to verify and ratify building plans before construction was made noting that this would go a long way in addressing the problem of edifice collapsing in the country.
In a remark, the Chairman College of Fellow, Mrs Bolanle Araba and the Assistant Honorary General Secretary, Reverend Segun Dosumu said the body was working round the clock to ensure professionalism in handling building construction in the country.
