…Calls for Unity, Peace, and National Commitment
Hon. Fatoba Olusola Steve, member of the House of Representatives representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I and Chairman, House Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values, has extended heartfelt greetings to Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, and to the people of Ekiti State as they mark 29 years since its creation.
In a goodwill message marking the dual celebrations, Hon. Fatoba congratulated citizens across the nation and used the opportunity to advocate for unity, peace, and patriotism—values he emphasized as critical for national growth and sustainable development.
“One thing that is essential to the progress of any nation is unity and peace,” he stated. “Going down memory lane, disunity and lack of peaceful co-existence contributed to the fall of the First Republic and the unfortunate civil war. We must learn from history and adhere to our national motto—Unity, Peace and Progress.”
He urged Nigerians to set aside differences in ethnicity, religion, and political affiliations in order to collectively move the nation forward. According to him, Nigeria belongs to all, and every citizen must play their part in nation-building.
Hon. Fatoba also called on Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and support his development agenda for the prosperity of the nation.
“We must believe in our country. No other nationality will come to develop this nation for us except we ourselves. Let us own our country and show her care and love,” he said.
Addressing the people of Ekiti State, Hon. Fatoba congratulated them on the 29th anniversary of the state’s creation. He commended the developmental strides under the leadership of the current governor, especially the ongoing implementation of a six-point agenda aimed at improving the lives of Ekiti citizens.
“It is my heartfelt pleasure to join the good people of Ekiti in celebrating the 29th anniversary of the creation of our beloved state. Comparing the past with the present, I am satisfied with the progress and development recorded so far,” he remarked.
In conclusion, Hon. Fatoba offered prayers for continued peace, stability, and prosperity for Nigeria, Ekiti State, and their people.
“May God continue to bless our Nation, State, and people with peace, stability, and development. Happy celebrations,” he said.
