The Nigeria Football Federation has taken a decision to employ a foreign Technical Adviser for the nation’s senior National team, the Super Eagles.
This was one of the decisions of the Executive Committee of the NFF at its meeting held on Wednesday, the 12th of June, 2024.
The body equally resolved to beef up its Technical Department with more quality hands.
Reflecting on Super Eagles recent outings in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, the Executive Committee frowned at the poor attitude of some players in the National team and decided to scout more players who can add value to the team.
The Executive Committee therefore apologised to Nigerians over the Eagles four poor outings in the qualifiers so far and pledged to put in place, a strong and better-prepared squad ahead of the 2015 AFCON qualifiers which begins later this year, as well as the continuation of World Cup qualifiers in March next year.
The Executive Committee equally pledged its full support for the Super Falcons as the team gets set to take part in the Women football event of Olympic Games.
Equally, the Committee mandated its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to approve the training programme submitted by the Head Coach of Women U20 team, as the side prepares for the World Cup in Colombia.
In the same vein, the Committee applauded the Women Under-17 team for its performance so far in the African qualifiers for World Cup and charged its Secretariat to assist the team ahead of its last match in the qualifiers.
Lastly, the Executive Committee resolved to convene a Stakeholders Forum very soon, to deliberate on amendments to the NFF statutes in conjunction with FIFA.
