The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, has pledged to partner with the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship (BCOC) to promote cultural values in the state.
The agreement was made during a courtesy visit to the office of the Director-General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship in the state.
NAWOJ Chairperson in Ekiti State, Mrs. Adewumi Ademiju, acknowledged the importance of BCOC in promoting good governance and the need for NAWOJ to support its activities.
She explained that the visit was part of the new executive’s familiarization tour and aimed to strengthen the relationship between NAWOJ and BCOC, as their goals align in promoting honesty, integrity, diligence, and dignity among Ekiti citizens.
Mrs. Ademiju outlined NAWOJ’s functions and upcoming activities, which she believes will positively impact women, girls, and the state.
She assured BCOC of robust and timely publicity, urging them to continue sensitizing the public on the importance of upholding good cultural values.
Responding, the Director-General of BCOC, Mrs. Olawumi Famuyiwa, appreciated the visit and promised to support NAWOJ’s activities.
She acknowledged the crucial role of journalists in the state and pledged to maintain a good relationship with the media.
The BCOC boss reiterated her commitment to supporting the Governor’s agenda by educating citizens on the need to uphold Ekiti’s virtues.
Similarly, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Civic Orientation, Chief Akinlade Ojo (aka Erugale), also thanked the NAWOJ executive members for their visit.
