To foster job creation in Nigeria, Delegates from Google visited the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Receiving the delegates on behalf of the Federal Government, the Vice President applauded Google for their support to President Tinubu’s administration on the one million job initiative.
Speaking about the potential of Nigeria’s young population, Shettima said, “We have a unique opportunity to harness the potential of our huge youth population to create millions of jobs in the digital sector.
He further stated that “Nigeria is ready for business. The President that we have now wants to leave a legacy that Nigerians will be proud of many years after,” the VP explained.
In his remarks, the Director, Google West Africa, Mr Olumide Balogun, said the company was excited about the Tinubu-led administration’s vision of creating one million digital jobs and was committing over N1.2bn in grants to support the initiative.
He said the company, through the programme, would provide digital skills to over 20,000 youths and women to improve their lives and enable several startups to grow and create thousands of jobs in the sector.
