INSUBORDINATION: Ekiti Pensioners Dissolve Ado Branch Executives

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners Ekiti State Council has  dissolved the executives of the Ado Ekiti Branch of the union led by Mr Ayodele  with immediate effect.

To this end, the Union ordered the setting up of a caretaker committee to take over the affairs of the branch pending the inauguration of substantive executives.

The dissolution of the Ado Ekiti executives was part of resolutions reached during the State Executive Council meeting of the union, held on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti and presided over by the state chairman, Comrade Joel Akinola.

According to the communique issued after the meeting, the Union ordered the dissolved executives to stop parading themselves as leaders of the branch to avert  the wrath of the union which may include arrest and prosecution.

The communique affirms that the former executives of the Ado branch were dissolved due to the high level of indiscipline, high-handedness, insubordination and disregard for the Union’s constitution.

Other allegations include, running of parallel administration with Ekiti State Council of NUP, holding series of mutinous, seditious and inciting meetings, writing of unsubstantiated Petition against the Constituted Authority, gross disrespect to the Constituted Authority, rebellious attitude; antagonism, recalcitrance, stubbornness and unrepentant posture.

The SEC noted that, the Ekiti State Council of NUP was making steady progress which is unprecedented, therefore the leadership would not allow the whims and caprices of certain group to serve as a clog in the wheel of progress of the Union.

At the moment, the dissolved executives have  been sent out of the office space given to the branch by the state Council while the building was locked.

Speaking with newsmen after the meeting, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Joel Akinola  appealed to members of the public to disregard the statement issued by the sacked executives where it accused the union leadership of corruption, saying it was an attempt to curry undue sympathy and divert attention from their illegalities.

According to him, the statement was issued after the unscrupulous elements were sent packing.

He described their action as last kick of the dying horse.
