APC wins 23 seats, SDP clinches 2 seats, Declares Ido/OSI constituency one inconclusive
The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC in Ekiti State has released the results of the state house of Assembly election held yesterday.
A statement statement by the commission’s Head of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr Temitope Akanmu says All Progressives Congress, APC won twenty three seats out of the twenty six seats in the Assembly.
Also, Social Democratic party, SDP won two seats while that of Ido/Osi constituency one was declared inconclusive due to the distruption of the exercise by suspected hoodlums.
The commission explains that supplementary election will be conducted three polling units in the constituency before a winner could be announced.
Some of the candidates of the All progressives Congress APC who won the election included that of the Ikole constituency one, Mr Babafemi Fatula, , Ado constituency one, Ayo Adegbite, Ilejemeje constituency, Mrs Iyabo Fakunle Okieimen, Idowu Odebunmi, Oye constituency two, Gbonyin constituency, Princess Teju Okunyiga and Moba constituency one, Mrs Abimbola Solanke.
However, candidates of the Social Democracratic Party, SDP, in Ekiti East constituency one, Mr Dele Ogunsakin and that of the Ise/ Orun constituency, Mr Omotayo Babatunde won two seats in the Assembly by defeating their closest rivals, APC candidates.
