Some members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Emure Ekiti have protested at the party sectretariat in Ado Ekiti, calling for the removal of the Party Chairman in the Council area, Mr. Bola Oluwole, also known as Bolingo.
The protesters who besiged the party secretariat early on Monday, 22nd July, 2024, held placards with different inscriptions such as, “Enough is enough for Oluwole”; “stop portraying our party in a bad way”, “you are not a team player”, “we are tired of your leadership style”, among others.
Addressing newsmen during the protest, a former Chairman of Emure Local Government , Hon Olu Okeya and a former APC women leader in the council, Mrs Aina Fasina alleged that the party Chairman’s high handedness and diversion of palliatives meant for members, among other offences, led to members calling for his removal.
Also, a member of the party in Emure ward 3, Mr Femi Adeyemo
alleged that Mr Oluwole also stole iron rods from a site, saying such had brought blemish to the reputation of the party in the council.
On their own, Mr Ayodele Famojuro and Mr Akinsola Oladapo noted that members and elders of APC had suspended Mr Bola Oluwole, calling on the state executive members to approve the suspension.
When contacted on telephone, Mr Bola Oluwole denied the allegations, saying it was a plan by some of his enemies.
During the protest, there was no State official of the party to address the protesters.
