Hundreds of people including Residents, Commuters and Travellers have been stranded following many hours of torrential rainfall in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, which caused flooding and prevented the people from reaching their various destinations.

Travellers from the northern parts of the country were stranded at Semusemu area of the river in Ikare Akoko.
All vehicular movements were stucked at the bank of the River for hours, waiting for the flooding and erosion to subside.
One of those affected by the flooding pastor Segun Arowolo narrated his ordeal, ‘I and members of my family narrowly escaped being carried away by the flood’
Arowolo appealed to the contractor handling the Ikare township dualisation road to speed up the job knowing fully that topography of Ikare made it to be very prone to flooding.
Another victim Mr Ojo Otitoju, who was going to Omuo Ekiti said he would find place to sleep till following morning.
Others who spoke to Radio Nigeria community Correspondent said it was time to rehabilitate Ugbe, Agbaluku and Arigidi road to serve as alternative route that would link Ikare Akoko axis to other places.
As at 11pm of the day, the rain was still pouring, thereby creating fear of the unknown in the minds of the people.
