The All Progressives Congress, APC in Gbonyin Local Government has described as untrue the claim by one Mr. Tunde Ajayi that he was a member of the party in Olumoba ward before defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Reacting to the recent purported defection of Mr Ajayi, APC Youth Leader in Gbonyin Local Government, Mr Adegoye Adebayo said the defector was never a member of the All Progressives Congress at any time.
Mr. Adebayo said the claim by Mr Tunde Ajayi that he was joining PDP from APC was to score cheap popularity and gain relevance.
“At no time was the so called Tunde Ajayi a member of APC. He has always been a member of Labour party which people who are conversant with politics in Oluomoba can attest to. So, what he did that day of his stage managed defection was just a drama”. Mr Adebayo said.
The APC Youth Leader explained that Iluomoba and Gbonyin Local Government remain an APC council area because it had benefitted immensely from Governor Kayode Fayemi’s led administration in the state.
Also speaking, an APC Stalwart and former chairman of Gbonyin Local Government, Mr Femi Awe explained that he has facilitated numerous developmental projects to Olumoba such as establishment of plywood industry, construction of road, building of classrooms, renovation of the king’s palace, facelifting and equipping health center among others.
“I can boldly say it that Oluomoba has never enjoyed dividends of democracy the way they are now. So if APC government is making such to happen, tell me why a member of our party will say he wants to defect, that’s not possible”.
Mr Awe popularly known as Femtex urged members of APC in the community to disregard Mr Tunde Ajayi and continue to work for the success of the party.
