Tragedy has struck in Ado Ekiti, the State capital as a director with the Local Government Service Commission, Mr David Jejelowo was assassinated by unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that the senior council official was killed early this morning at his residence in Igirigiri, Ado Ekiti.
However, it could not be ascertained how and why he was killed as at the time of this report, the incident had thrown the whole community into palpable shock.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the man was kidnapped about two years ago and later released by his abductors.
When contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday Abutu confirmed the killing.
He announced that investigation had commenced to unravel the details behind the dastardly act.
He promised to give more information about the incident to journalists later in the day.
