Governor Kayode Fayemi has urged the Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS) to put in necessary mechanisms that would check multiple taxation, block financial leakages and reposition the agency for optimal service delivery.
He gave the advice at the inauguration of the members of the boards of the agency held at the State Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Ado Ekiti, Dr. Fayemi stressed the need for the agency to strive to increase the revenue profile of the State to fast track even development across boards.
He explained that the constitution of the board was part of Government’s effort to comply with globally accepted pattern of tax administration and to also set legacy for the State.
In his response the State Chairman of EKIRS, Mr Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade commended the State Government for his persistent commitment towards the autonomy of the agency.
He assured that the board would deploy more technology to drive the state internal revenue service to achieve effective service delivery.
