Nigerian Youths have been charged to always show more compassion and commitment to their chosen careers to enable them to contribute to societal development and nation building.
Governor kayode Fayemi gave the charge in Ado Ekiti while receving in his office the three indigenes of Ekiti State who were recently honoured with the Presidential Award for National Youth Corps members.
The Governor noted that the challenges in youth development were enormous but believed that with their resilience and committment to nation building it could be surmounted.
He said that government would continue to prioritize youth development as a way to prepare them for leadership positions.
The Governor acknowledged the exceptional qualities of the three ekiti indegenes at their various Places of Primary Assignments and urged them to continue to be good ambassadors of the state.
These young people went beyond the call of duty and made us proud.
Kolawole Toba Gabriel focused on maternal and child mortality, and helped to address questions of poverty that contribute to high mortality rates in Adamawa State.
In Bauchi State, Ayodele Olubusayo Abidemi did a lot to improve the learning environment in the community where she served by renovating three blocks of classrooms, and assisting school children.
Seriki Adetutu Ifeoluwa dug a well to improve access to water during her service year, and provided relief materials to vulnerable school children in Oyo State.
On behalf of the good people of Ekiti State, I thank them for making us proud and wish them success in their future endeavours.
The award recipients in their various reactions promised to continue to leverage on their successes and make the state proud in wherever they find themselves.
