Radio Nigeria Progress FM Ado Ekiti has been urged not to relent in it’s efforts at dishing out scintillating programmes towards engendering development, unity and peaceful coexistence in the society.
Ekiti state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji made the call in Ado Ekiti during the 20th anniversary of the station where the staff, partners, well wishers and friends of the media house basked in merriment of the occasion.
The governor who spoke through his chief press secretary and special adviser on media, Mr yinka oyebode lauded progress fm for always displaying professionalism and playing vanguard roles in Ekiti state.
He said Ekiti state government has always been partnering federal government in the areas that could foster development, saying he will reach out to the station concerning power generating set to aide operations.
Governor Oyebanji also stressed the need for the media outfit to remain meticulous in it’s reportage and endeavour to enlighten the public on the current situation of things in the country, particularly on the coming general election, and issues sorrounding the new naira notes among others.
In his Goodwill message, the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe respresented by the Ejemu of Ado Ekiti, chief Sola Olanrewaju expressed dismay that progress FM has been running on diesel for the past 20 years, urging the station to reach out to the state government for assistance.
On his part, an APC House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti south federal constituency one, retired Air vice Marshal Adeniyi Ojuawo who promised to donate a generating set to the station said his gesture was informed by the need to assist progress FM to stay on air so as to sustain it’s outstanding service to the people of Ekiti State.

n an address, the Zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal station, Mr Dominic Mokikan acknowledged the dedication and commitment of the progress FM workforce towards achieving the corporate objectives of the FRCN at large.
He said that the motto of the FRCN “uplifting the people and uniting the nation” would be maintained as he sought the support of the state government in the area of connecting the station to the national grid for effective service delivery.
Earlier, the General manager of tigress FM, Mr Dokun Ladele appreciated God for sustaining the station for the past 20 years and thanked the Ekiti state government, sponsors of various programmes on the station and listeners for being partners in progress over the years.
Mr Ladele pledged that progress FM would not compromise professionalism in the discharge of or duties of informing, educating and entertaining the people of Ekiti.
Some sponsors of programmes on the station were presented with awards of recognition of their long time partnership and patronage of the broadcasting outfit.
