Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has promised to fully implement the peace pact recently signed, aimed at resolving the political challenges facing the state.
Addressing people of the state through a statewide broadcast on Christmas day, Governor Fubara said he had studied the terms of the resolutions and gave an assurance that they are all implementable.
The Governor said he believed that the peace pact would help to restore peace and stability to the state without affecting the interest of the people.
He noted that those involved had started demonstrating readiness to follow the resolutions by taking steps outlined in the signed document.
The Governor said the state legislature had already withdrawn the purported impeachment notice served on him while the state government in return, had released the hitherto withheld allowances of members of the state House of Assembly.
Governor Fubara thanked President Bola Tinubu for his intervention which he said demonstrated his love for Rivers State and democracy.
