Go Back To Farm… Monarch Tells Nigerians.

Nigerians especially youths have been advised to go back to farm to reduce hunger in the country.

The Zaki of Arigidi Akoko in Ondo State, Oba Yisa Olanipekun gave the advice while addressing newsmen at this year’s new yam festival in his palace.

Oba Olanipekun urged youths to channel their energy on productive ventures like farming, to ensure food sufficiency in Nigeria and also reduce criminal activities, saying that an idle hand remains a devil’s workshop.

The monarch also appealed to wealthy Nigerians to always remember their towns and villages as being done by the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Gani Adams.

“The wealthy ones should remember their source, towns and villages in terms of investment on youths to ensure peace in the society” the monarch said.

According to Oba Olanipekun “When someone is jobless, devil can easily find job for such fellow, when someone is hungry, there is nothing you can tell such person that will sink into his brain, so our Youths must show interest in farming, skill acquisition and other lucrative businesses to keep them busy”.

He noted that the country, particularly the South West region was blessed with rich land and favourable climate change.

The traditional ruler noted that the new yam festival was to thank God for having bountiful harvest this year.
