Gbajabiamila Resigns

The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has resigned from the House.

This will enable him to take up his fresh appointment as Chief of Staff to president Bola Tinubu.

Hon Gbajabiamila was re-elected for the 6th time to represent Surulere Federal Constituency one during the February 25 NationaI Assembly Election.

His letter of resignation was presented on the floor of the house and read by the speaker, Hon Tajudeen Abbas.

The immediate past Speaker was inaugurated on Tuesday alongside his colleagues.

He also participated in the Election of the 10th House of Representatives which produced Hon Tajudeen Abbas and Hon Benjamin Kalu as speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively.

Following Hon Gbajabiamila’s resignation, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will now conduct bye election to fill the vacant position for Surulere Federal Constituency one.
