Former, Serving Leaders discuss Nigeria’s future in Lagos.

A programme aptly titled, “Constitutional Dialogue” on the future of Nigeria, has been scheduled for Monday, the 18th of March, 2024 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, Lagos.

According to the Chairman of the Patriots, a group of eminent Nigerians, who are the organisers, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, the Dialogue was designed to help build national consensus and to discuss how to make the country work for its citizens.

Chief Anyaoku, who is also a former Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations explained that the meeting would chart a way forward for the Nation on several areas which are currently seen as problematic in the governance of the country.

The retired diplomat added that the National Dialogue is being held in honour of a former Minister and Nationalist who championed the convocation of the 2014 National Constitutional Conference, late Professor Ben Nwabueze, SAN.

Eminent Nigerians including former Presidents and former Heads of State are being expected at the event.

Some of them are former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan; former Heads of State, Yakubu Gowon and Abdusalami Abubakar; Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, Regional leaders including Professor Ango Abdullahi, Dr Edwin Clark, Retired General Alani Akinrinade, Tanko Yakassai, Ayo Adebanjo, current Senate President and Speaker, House of Representatives, serving and former Governors, Leaders of thought, among others.
