A Former Deputy Governor in Ekiti State, Chief Abiodun Aluko has felicitated with Teachers in the state as the United Nations (UNESCO) set today aside to celebrate their diligent contributions to nation building in terms of quality education and moral excellence.
In a statement in Ikere Ekiti, Chief Aluko maintained that the services of teachers to nation building, their contributions to education and dedication for the development of students as well as the society at large were not only appreciated but worthy of celebration.
The Ekiti State Elder statesman also used the World Teachers’ Day to appreciate the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi for creating a conducive academic environment for teachers in Ekiti to operate without any fear of molestation.
Chief Aluko pointed out that apart from the fact that, Ekiti students in public primary and secondary schools enjoyed free education, six models schools were established, while renovation of old schools had been completed in many towns while others were ongoing.
Speaking on the Theme of this year’s World Teachers’ Day “Teachers at the heart of education recovery”, the Ekiti State Former Deputy Governor urged Teachers not to relent in efforts to sustain the feats Ekiti had achieved in education sector by complementing Governor Fayemi’s strive to make students in the public schools a shining star among their contemporaries in the world.
Chief Aluko said that the Teachers’ determination and diligence were crucial at this period of the Covid-19 pandemic in order to promote academic excellence and prepared students for external examinations.
