Former Council Boss Condemns Killing Of FUOYE’s Student

A community leader in Oye Ekiti and former chairman of Oye Local Government, Hon. Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has condemned in strong terms the barbaric and animalistic way by which yet to be identified men of underworld terminated the life of a 200 level student of Federal University, Oye Ekiti, the late miss Modupe Atanda Deborah, on Wednesday.

Hon. Tale Oguntoyinbo, while speaking with Newsmen in Oye-Ekiti, said, it is heartless and unimaginable for somebody to plan and kill a fellow human being for whatever reason, particularly a student sent to school by the parents to study for better future.

Hon. Oguntoyinbo expressed sympathy and condolences to the parents of the students, the Vice Chancellor of FUOYE, Prof. Abayomi Adesina and the entire management of the instruction as well as the Student Union Body over the and unfortunate incident.

He applauded the Nigerian police, Amontekun and other law enforcement agencies for the arrest of 10 suspects in connection with the matter.

According to him, anybody or group of persons found culpable must be allowed to face appropriate sanctions.

He appealed to the sons and daughters of Oye Ekiti in home and abroad to rally round the university authorities to unravel the situation which led to the bad incident so that people will not tarnish the good name of the community built from time immemorial.

Hon. Oguntoyinbo called on all religious leaders in the community, both traditional and Christian to converge for fervent prayers so that those who perpetrated this act of Evil can come out and confess.
