Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed at a Shopping Complex razed by fire in Ado Ekiti.
The Shopping Complex housing ten shops was completely razed by fire on Sunday morning.
The shopping Complex was beside the road around a private secondary School Covenant Academy along Ado/Afao Ekiti Road.
One of the landlords residing around the area, who pleaded anonymity said the fire started very early on Sunday morning.
The landlord said he alerted residents of the area but they could not put out the inferno while the ten shops were locked by the owners.
Speaking with journalists, some of the shops owners said they could not ascertain the cause of the fire as they were still in the same shops on Saturday.
The Victims who wept uncontrollably, said they called fire fighters to assist them to put out the fire and salvage their goods but they claimed that they had no water for operation.
The noted that the entire means of their livelihood had been lost to the fire, hence the need for urgent assistance.
Another shop owner said that he took loan of about two million naira from a commercial bank to equip the shop but he had lost everything.
The Victims who described the situation as uncalled for, appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other well meaning Nigerians to urgently come to their aid.
