The Federal Government has earmarked One hundred billion naira (#100b) for School Feeding Programme in the country, this year.
This information is contained in the budget signed into law on Monday, the first of January, 2024 by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on the allocation, President Tinubu said the school feeding programme is an area of priority to the Federal Government.
President Tinubu said the school feeding programme will continue to serve as stimulant to encourage school registration and attendance, reduce out-of-school children and improve nutrition among school children.
He promised to meet local governments at sub-national levels to fine-tune the collaboration to jointly implement the programme.
It could be recalled that President Tinubu recently re-invigorated the School Feeding Programme and directed its transfer from Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to that of Education.
