Federal Government Tasked on Immediate Payment of Gratuity, Pension, As NOA Director Bows Out of Office

Civil servants across Nigeria have been implored to be conscious of life after retirement so as not to be disappointed by government’s promises on their benefits.

A Former staff of National Orientation Agency, Mr Femi Filani stated this in Ado Ekiti during a valedictory session organised in honour of immediate past Acting Director, National Orientation Agency in Ekiti State, Mr Bankole Fadahunsi as he bows out of service.

Mr Filani who is the chairman on the occasion observed that most retired civil servants who did not prepare for life retirement end up with various life threatening diseases owing to inability to cope with rigors of life.

He implored the Federal government to find means of paying pension and gratuity of retired civil servants on time saying the period of retired was very critical.

The senior citizen lamented that most retired civil servants would not been able to access their benefits owing to various polices that hinders prompt payment of monthly pension.

A friend of the celebrant, Mr Awe Olabode urged retired civil servants to engage in sporting activities, eat balanced diet, join religious associations and other lawful groups so as to live healthy lifestyle.

The Retired NOA Director Mr Bankole Fadahunsi appreciated the staff of the Agency for honoring him and urged them to be diligent in their duties.

The funfair ceremony attracted staff of the Agency both past and present as well as dignitaries from all walks of life.
