Fayemi’s wife seeks stakeholders support in fighting Gender based violence.

Nigerians have been told to see themselves as major stakeholders in curbing the tide of sexual violence.

Wife of Ekiti state Governor Erelu Bisi Fayemi stated this in Emure Ekiti during a stakeholders meeting on stemming the tide of sexual violence.

The Governor’s wife reminded the gathering that there was existing law prohibiting the Gender based violence acts saying anyone caught violating it would risk life jail term.

She called on victims of sexual violence to report perpetrators to security operatives and make themselves available for treatment at moremi clinic located at the state teaching hospital in Ado Ekiti.

” If you have any victim of Gender Based Violence , please, endeavor to report to Moremi Clinic

Erelu Fayemi also Charged parents and teachers to monitor their children so as to check the trend of sexual assault on minor.

She gave assurance that government would not relent in its advocacy towards ensuring zero tolerance gender based.

Erelu fayemi used the medium to call on parents to ensure peace at their various home as well as discouraged children from watching pornography saying that the Society start from the homes.

Earlier, the Commission for Woman Affairs and Social Development, Alhaja Mariam Ogunlade said all hands must be on deck in fighting against GBV in the state.

She called on collaborative efforts of all traditional and communities leaders in ensuring that the menace is reduced to the berest minimum in the state.

The Elemue Emure-Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Adebowale , promised to spread the message to the people of the community.

He called on all stakeholders to join hands with the Government towards ensuring that there the community was free of the practice.

Also, the Chairman of Emure Local Government, Mr Oluwadare Awopetu thanked the wife of the governor for her passion in fighting for humanity especially the female gender and vulnerable in the state.
