Fayemi’s wife promises to train unemployed in production of sanitary pads.

Unemployed young women in Ekiti State are to be trained in production of reusable sanitary pads to reduce poverty level and increase access to safe menstrual hygiene.

The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Erelu Bisi made this known in Okeimesi Ekiti during the Flagg off of a programme tagged
“Keep Girls in Schools Pad Bank”

She advised those interested in production of reusable pads to make themselves available while arrangements had been concluded with companies that would train them.

Erelu fayemi who remarked that the essence of coming up with the programme was to keep matured girls in school during menstrual period, urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of pads distributed to them.

The Wife of the Governor also disclosed that a proposed mental health bill was being worked upon to check the activities of ritualists engaging in sexual molestation of lunatics.

“The proposed bill will soon be taken to the House of Assembly for legislative action. We have different cases of lunatics being impregnated in the state while their children had been taken to motherless home but we want this to stop” She explained.

Earlier in a welcome address The chairman, Ekiti West Local Government, Mr Kareem Agunbiade enjoined parents to support government in provision of Pads to their girls most especially when the reusable ones distributed were exhausted.

The Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Yinka Oyebode appealed to the students to pay adequate attention to their studies so that their future would not be jeopardized with youthful exorbitant and other distractions.

On his part, The Owa Oye of Okeimesi Ekiti, Oba Gbadebo Adedeji, commended the initiative towards in view of pains being experienced by school girls during menstrual period.

Students of four schools across Ekiti West council area were captured in the exercise.
