The Former Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, professor Abayomi Fasina has taken over the mantle of leadership, as the fourth substance vice chancellor of the institution with a promise to promote staff welfare, Academics excellence, research and moral value.

The handing over ceremony which also features messages of goodwill, songs rendition, prayers and playlet by the students of Faculty of Agriculture, Federal university Oye Ekiti.
In his inaugural speech, the new Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, professor Abayomi Fasina appealed to Competitors, Aggrieved members Union Leaders and other stakeholders in the institution to join hands in moving the university forward.
Professor Fasina said his dream was to transform FUOYE to a first class university by leading with the highest standard of professionalism, integrity and to build on the good works of the former vice chancellor, professor Kayode Soremekun.
The Fuoye New vice Chancellor said his tenure would not only promote culture of academic freedom, intellectual exploits among staff and students but would also produce technologically- oriented and self relevant graduates.
Professor Fasina called for partnership among government Agencies, media professionals, students and Union Leaders.
Earlier, the Former Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Kayode Soremekun challenged professor Fasina to build meaningfully on his good legacies in order to meet other developed Universities in the world.
Professor Soremekun who described the programme as a great event which he had been waiting for, said that the five years he spent as VC in FUOYE had been very challenging and interesting with a call to support professor Fasina.
The FUOYE Former Vice Chancellor said he met three thousand students in 2016 when he took over the mantle of leadership with four Faculties and left the university with twenty four thousand students and twelve Faculties including Law, Pharmacy and Sciences which he said often difficult to achieve by many universities in Nigeria.
In a remark, the Registrar, FUOYE, Mr Olatunbosun Odusina assured the total and unflinching support of Senior staff and smooth working relationship with the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Fasina.
Mr Odusina appreciated those who grace the occasion and the kind gesture of host communities both Oye and Ikole Ekiti campuses.
Well-wishers who stormed the occasion presented various gifts items, awards of excellence and communication letters to the Former Vice Chancellor Professor Kayode Soremekun and prayed God to continue to show mercy and favour in all his future endeavours.
