The wife of Ekiti State Governor Erelu Bisi Fayemi has been confired with “Akorewolu” chieftaincy title of Ilawe kingdom with an appeal to her not to relent in humanitarian services.
Performing the ceremony, at the Alawe’s palace, Oba Ajibade Alabi said the honour was a mark of appreciation for the goodness of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s administration to the people of Ilawe Ekiti.
He told the gathering that the chieftaincy title was also in recognition of various Advocacy programmes intiated by Erelu Fayemi.
He maintained that the impact or commitment to such programmes like genda equality and advancements as well as Girlchild education among others was seriously felt across the state.
Oba Alabi said that Ilawe- kingdom had been enjoying an unprecedented independence under Fayemi’s administration adding that it was during his tenure that he assumed the prestigious position of Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers.
In her acceptance speech the wife of the Governor and Akorewolu of Ilawe-Ekiti, Erelu Bisi Fayemi thanked the community for the honour and for acknowledging the various interventions of the government in the town.
She said that Ekiti and Ilawe Ekiti in particular would enjoy more dividends of democracy under the incoming administration of Governor Elect, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Dignitaries at the ceremony included Onisan of Isan, Oba Gabriel Adejuwon,Onitaji of Itaji Oba Adamo Babalola, a former deputy Governor, Professor Modupe Adelabu among others.
