There is reward for hard work for individuals who show commitment to their duties.
This came to reality at a retirement party organised for the outgoing zonal Director, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Ibadan Zonal Station, Mrs Bolatito Janet Joseph.
The premises of Progress FM Ado-Ekiti, the venue of the party for pioneer General Manager of the station was filled to capacity by friends and well wishers of Mrs Bolatito Janet Joseph, popularly called BJJ.
In his welcome address, the General Manager, Radio Nigeria Progress FM Ado Ekiti, Mr. Dokun Ladele said Mrs Joseph being the first General Manager of the station laid a solid foundation for the broadcasting outfit.
Mr. Ladele noted that the media house witnessed rapid development under Mrs Joseph.
Chairman on the occasion who is the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Professor Edward Olanipekun described the celebrant as a disciplinarian, diligent and hardworking personality.
Also, a former Director, National Directorate of Employment, NDE in Ekiti state, Dr. Abimbola Oni said the retiring Zonal Director was a good friend whom they worked together in the state.
While speaking, a former Governor of Ekiti state, Chief Segun Oni, represented by Dr. Ife Arowosoge congratulated the celebrant, calling on her to use her post retirement life judiciously.
On their parts, the General Managers of the Broadcasting service of Ekiti State, Mr. Olu Popoola, that of Our Peoples FM, Ado-Ekiti, Dr Yemi Agbeleoba and the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti state council, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela pointed out that the virtues of Mrs. Joseph should guide young broadcasters to be committed to their duties.
Others who spoke including Professor Rotimi Sanya, heads of Programmes Department of Progress FM, Mrs Bola Agbaje and her counterparts from Marketing Department, Mr. Bayo Babalola said the celebrant would be greatly missed for her professionalism in broadcasting.
Responding, the outgoing zonal Director, FRCN, Ibadan zonal Station, Mrs. Bolatito Joseph appreciated God and those who contributed to her success story while in service.
Mrs Joseph advised those coming behind her in the industry to allow professionalism and diligence to guide them in their line of duties.
Mrs Bolatito Janet Joseph, born in 1964 joined the service of Radio Nigeria in 1985 as a freelance Artist before she was offered temporary employment in 1987 as a junior announcer.
On her part, the Chairman, Planning committee, Mrs Ayodele Aladesuyi who congratulated the Celebrant for attaining the feat, also thanked those who made the party a colourful, successful and memorable one.
