EMINENT PEOPLE CONVERGE ON ILUPEJU, AS EKITI GOVERNMENT BIDS CHIEF OGUNLADE FAREWELL.

Ilupeju Ekiti the country home of a Former Minister of National Planning, Chief Ayo Ogunlade today witnessed people from all walks of life as Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji led delegation to the final burial ceremony of the late Elder Statesman.

Leading the delegation on behalf of the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye joined a former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to pay last respect to Chief Ogunlade, as the elder statesman was laid to rest at his residence in Ilupeju Ekiti.

The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, described the late Minister, Chief Ayo Ogunlade as a true son of Ekiti who made the State proud home and abroad during his service to the country as Minister at two different times.

In a sermon, the Bishop of Ekiti Oke Diocese of Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Isaac Olubowale described Chief Ogunlade as a good Christian who had contributed in no small measure to the development of the society and also helped in the development of the church.

Right Reverend Olubowale however called on Nigerians to always remember God and desist from acts that could rob them the opportunity to gain eternity with their creator.

Late Chief Ayo Ogunlade was a broadcaster, a journalist, a two-time Minister, a community leader and a technocrat of no mean reputation during his lifetime.
