Mr. Rasaki Temitope Sikiru popularly called ‘RSK’ has emerged the State Chairman, pickup and Lorry Association, Nigeria PLAN Ekiti State chapter.
Mr. Sikiru as emergence was due to the unanimous decision of members, and Chairman of each Branch across the sixteen local governments in Ekiti and the process was witnessed by Representatives of Federal Labour Cooperative Society the Union’s Lawyer and sister transport union.
While presenting, Mr. Sikiru to the members, the Secretary, National Trustee of pick up and Lorry Association of Nigeria, Mr. Musa Abu charged the newly elected Chairman not to fail in his responsibilities.
Earlier, the former State Chairman of the Association, Mr. Joseph Ogbunjobi and former State Caretaker Chairman, Mr. Michael Fadare appreciated members of the Union for their support and urged them to give total support to the new Exco.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, pickup and Lorry Association of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr. Rasaki Sikiru promised to prioritize the welfare of members across the State and assigned them that he would not allow anyone to harass their members.
Mr. Sikiru however urged members to shun all acts that could drag the name of the association help mud and sought their cooperation in moving the transport women forward.
In another development, the Pick-up and Lorry Association of Nigeria, PLAN, Ekiti State Chapter has set up three committees to oversee the activities of the association for the next four years, to include Building, Disciplinary and Patrol Team
Announcing the Committee at a meeting in Ado Ekiti, the State Chairman, Pick up and Lorry Association of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, Mr. Rasaki Sikiru said that the Disciplinary Committee would be chaired by Mr Sunday Ogunride, while Mr. Abiodun Olusola and Mr Adebisi Adeniyi, would be members.
He named the Building Committee members to include Mr Jamiu Adebayo, Mr Fadare Michael, Mr Musa Abu, Mr Idowu Okunola, and Mr. Mr Alimi Yusuf, while Alfa Kayode Akinola would be the chairman.
Mr. Sikiru who appointed Alhaji Olawale Abdul-lasisi as the life Patron of the association, urged all the appointees to live up to expectations to justify the confidence reposed in them in order to move the union to an enviable height, adding that the patrol Team would be divided into four sections, Ikere, Iworoko, Federal poly road, New Oyin/ Ilawe roads.
The union also congratulated the olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti, Oba Adegbenro Falore on the celebration of this year’s okorobe festival.
