Ekiti State Government Takes Step To Enhance Tourism

Ekiti State Governor, Doctor Kayode Fayemi says the establishment of Ise-Ekiti Forest Conservation Area will help to stimulate the economy of the State and enhance tourism.

Doctor Fayemi stated this at the passing out parade of newly recruited and trained Forest Rangers in Ise-Ekiti who were engaged to prevent poaching and other illegal activities in the forest.

Represented by the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Princess Iyabo Fakunle-Okhiemen, the governor explained that the initiative was in partnership with South-West Niger-Delta Forest Project.

Director of the Project, Ms Rachael Ashegbofe commended the State government for taking step to conserve the natural heritage of the people of Ise-Ekiti.

The Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti, Oba Ayodele Ajayi who spoke through Chief Tunji Falana affirmed that the project would assist in the development of the area and provide employment opportunities.
