Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi says the Ikun dairy farm willl serve as a reference point for the National lives stock transformation plan.
Dr Fayemi who stated this at Ikun-Ekiti shortly after taken stock of over two hundred cows from USA for the farm said that necessary arrangements have been put in place to prevent the cattle from roaming about.
Dr Fayemi said that the dairy farm would attest to the ability of Nigeria in the production of milk rather than being a milk importing nation.
The governor explained that about five hundred hectares of land have been acquired for raising fields to feed the cows, which would prevent open grazing.
The governor expressed confidence in the success of the partnership with promasidor company in the sustainability and viability of the farm.
The governor noted that Government would continue to create the enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.
