The leadership of the Radio Television Theatre and Art Workers Union, RATTAWU Ekiti state council wants both the federal and state governments as well as other stakeholders to engage the media for more sensitization and re-orientation of prospective voters ahead of the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti and the general polls in 2023.
The union made the call in a statement in Ado Ekiti where it condemned the last Saturday’s violence in Omuo during the Ekiti East constituency one bye- election which led to the death of three persons.
A statement by the RATTAWU Chairman, Mr Jasper Falae and the secretary, Ayodele Ogunmilade pledged the readiness of all media organizations to work with government in the fight against election violence in the state.
The union lauded Governor Kayode Fayemi for assuring the people of the state that the perpetrators of the violence would be brought to book regardless of their part affiliations
Mr. Falae and Mr. Ogunmilade also commiserated with the families and establishments of the victims of the incident.
