Ekiti Police Command to Fish Out Corrupt Officers.

By Anthony Ojo.

The Nigeria Police, Ekiti state command, under the leadership of Mr. Tunde Mobayo says it has zero tolerance to corrupt practices, unprofessional conducts and violation of human rights among its officers.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Abutu said in a statement in Ado-Ekiti that the Commissioner of police was reacting to complaints by members of the public that some police officers were arresting and harassing innocent people.

According to him, the said officers mostly in polo shirts are alleged of seizing and checking the contents of people’s phones, as well as demanding for bail through ATM, POS and bank transfer.

Mr. Abutu said only SARS operatives were allowed to wear black polo shirts with SARS inscription on them, hence other officers using similar dress were on illegal duty.

The PPRO made it known that efforts were on to fish out the bad eggs among the police, while urging the people who experience undue harassment, violation of human rights and extortion to report to the Commissioner of Police through these phone numbers 09064050086 or 08156141876.
