Eighteen suspected criminals have been paraded by Ekiti state police command for committing different offences ranging from self kidnapping, Armed robbery, cultism, stealing and burglary.
Parading the suspects at the police Headquarters in Ado Ekiti,, the command’s police public Relations officer, Mr Sunday Abutu said the suspects were arrested at different locations in the state through information gathering from the public.
Mr Abutu explained that some of the suspected armed robbers blocked Aisegba/ iluomoba road and robbed people of their belongings.
The PPRO said that one them who is a sixteen year old drugged a lady with soft drink and had carnal knowledge of her for three days in his room.
Mr Abutu also said that one of the suspects faked her abduction and demanded ransom.
He appealed to members of the public not to relent in giving useful information to security agents for prompt action, promising that the command would intensify efforts to rid the state of criminals.
In an interview, some of the suspects confessed to the crime.
Items recovered from them include guns, phones, Cutlasses, axe, laptops, recharge cards among others.
