Ekiti Police Command debunks Rumour of Another Bank Robbery

The Ekiti State Police command has warned all peddlers of fake news in the state to desist or face the full wrath of the law.

This followed fake news of another bank Robbery being circulated in Ado Ekiti which has caused panic and apprehension among the residents.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the Command’s spokesperson, Mr Sunday Abutu declared that the trending news of another bank Robbery in the state capital was just a mere imagination of some fake news peddlers and enemies of the State who derive joy in causing unnecessary apprehension in the society.

Mr Abutu therefore enjoined members of the public to disregard the misinformation and go about their lawful businesses.

He disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Dare Ogundare had ordered the deployment of more tactical and intelligence teams across the State especially around banking areas to ensure there is no attack or breach of peace anywhere in the State
