The Ekiti State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Ayobami Salami has applauded the people of Ido/Osi constituency one for their conduct during the Supplementary Election held in the three Polling units for Ekiti State house of Assembly.
Professor Salami stated this in Ido Ekiti while feeding questions from Newsmen after he led the management team to monitor the exercise in polling units 3,12 and 14.
He expressed satisfaction with the process particularly early arrival of Election materials, personnel and turn out of voters which he described as impressive.
Professor Salami however urged them to accept the outcome in good faith in order to lay to rest the 2023 Elections.
Two of the voters, Elder Ariyo Ajayi and Madam Rebecca Anifowose lauded INEC for making concrete preparations for the Election which led to its success.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Police command has arrested some suspected thugs in Ido Ekiti.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Dare Ogundare confirmed this to Newsmen in Ido Ekiti while monitoring the exercise alongside NSCDC operatives and Soldiers.
Mr Ogundare alleged that those apprehended were planning to distrupt the Election process by chasing away Voters.
He vowed that the suspects would be handed over to INEC for prosecution to serve as deterrent to others in future Elections.
The Commissioner of Police pointed out that adequate personnel were deployed for the exercise to prevent break down of law and order.
Also, the leader of EFCC team, Mr Eze Sunday said there was no any reported case of votes buying in the three Polling units.
