Ekiti Governorship Election: SDP Seeks Alternative Means to Serve APC, Gov Elect Petition.

The lead Counsel to the Candidate of the Social Democratic Party SDP, Chief Segun Oni on the case filled before the Election Petition Tribunal on the just concluded Governorship Election in Ekiti State, Mr. Obafemi Adewale says it has filed a case on an alternative means to serve the Governor Elect, Mr Abayomi Oyebanji and the Deputy Governor Elect, chief Monisade Afuye copy of their petition.

Addressing a press conference in Ado Ekiti, on behalf of the Lead Counsel, a legal Practitioner Mr. Owoseni Ajayi explained that the Governor Elect and his Deputy have no personal address to reach them, while APC state secretariat had been locked after the election, hence the need for application for service.

Mr. Owoseni also explained that efforts to reach the Yobe state Governor Mai-Mala Buni who is also party to the subject was not successful as those at the APC Head Huarters in Abuja declined receiving any document.

“Oni’s lawyers described Oyebanji’s action as a deliberate attempt to delay the commencement of the SDP candidate’s petition before the Tribunal, against his victory”.

He pointed out that SDP had only one hundred and eighty days to file its application and also to serve the respondent.

Mr Owoseni noted that the widespread of manipulations and other negative actions against SDP called for redress.
