Ekiti governor’s wife advises expectant mothers to register in public health facilities.

Wife of Ekiti-State Governor, Dr Yemi Oyebanji has called on pregnant women, particularly those with multiple gestations, to register with government hospitals for quality care.

The governor’s wife stated this when she visited the Mother of a triplets at the Omuo General Hospital, Omuo-Ekiti in Ekiti east local government area of the state.

Dr Oyebanji said that early registration would enable expectant mothers to get adequate ante-natal care from qualified and experienced medical personnel during and after pregnancy.

She added that the babies would enjoy multiple Birth Fund by the state government which had been passed by the State House of Assembly for multiple Birth children.

She donated money, baby clothes, diapers , toiletries, foodstuffs to the triplets, one boy and two girls – born to a 22-year old applicant mother.

She also gave gifts to other women who recently gave birth to babies at the same hospital.

Earlier, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Ojo Abraham said that the mother of the triplets was rushed to the hospital on Sunday 23 and was able to take delivery of the babies naturally without the Caesan Session.

He added that the babies weighed 2kg, 1. 6kg and 1.7 kg at birth.

The 22 year old mother of the triplets said that the babies were her first born, saying that she didn’t know the father of the babies
