EKITI GOVERNMENT CAUTIONS STUDENTS AGAINST USE OF UNAUTHORIZED DEVICES DURING WAEC EXAMINATION

Ekiti State Government has cautioned students who are taking part in the ongoing Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSCE against unauthorized use of electronic devices besides ones provided by the examination body.

The State Commissioner for Education, Mr Foluso Daramola gave the warning while monitoring the ongoing WASC examination in Oye, Ikole, Ekiti East, part of Ido/OSI and Irepodun/ Ifelodun Local Government Areas of the State.

Mr Daramola noted that some of the personal electronic devices like phones, calculator, IpAD, Laptop Computer could be used to perpetrate examination malpractices.

He warned that any school authority that flouted government’s directive would be sanctioned.

The commissioner expressed satisfaction with the COVID-19 preventive arrangements put in place in all schools visited.

Radio Nigeria correspondent who monitored the examination in some schools in Ado Ekiti and some other Local governments observed that all the COVID19 preventive items were on ground while all students wore their face masks.
