Ekiti First Lady cautions Youths against Addiction to Social Media .

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has challenged boys and girls in school-age not to be too engrossed by activities on Social Media in order not to jeopardize their future.

She gave the advice in Ado Ekiti while playing host to Bright Olamilekan Oladele who emerged the best student out of six hundred candidates currently seeking admission to Aviation College in Zaria, Kaduna State.

After the examination nineteen were shortlisted and the sixteen-year-old boy emerged the best among them.

The First Lady observed that nowadays, people in the age range of secondary and tertiary institution have become militant on social media; playing games, betting, among others, instead of taking to their academics with good intention of becoming the best in future.

Dr Oyebanji however recalled that “since inception of this administration, Ekiti State has been in the news for good reasons, part of which is what we are witnessing right now in respect of the Aisegba-Ekiti born prospective pilot who emerged overall best and we are happy about it”

The Governor’s wife who noted that the boy is a product of public school at Federal College of Science and Technology, Usi Ekiti, expressed confidence in government owned schools as it could deliver optimally even beyond expectations.

In a remark, the Director General, Community Communication, Ekiti State, Mrs Mary Oso-Omotoso who accompanied the family of the best candidate to the office of the first lady, noted that government had played pivotal role in assisting the boy to get admission to the Aviation School owing to Governor Oyebanji led administration’s passion for talent development.

“The money needed for admission to the Aviation School is over twenty three million Naira, part of which was provided by the State Governor, though the family had raised up to ten million naira before government’s assistance. Oso-Omotoso explained.

The sixteen year-old-boy who emerged best candidate for the Aviation school, Master Bright Olamilekan Oladele appreciated government for its contribution to education sector.

The father of the boy, Engineer Wale Oladele who spoke on behalf of the mother, Motunrayo as well as the uncle, Mr Ayodele Oladele solicited continuous government’s support for younger generation so as to restore the educational glory of the state.

Academics activities in the aviation school begins in two weeks time.
