The Ekiti State Football Association says screening for its Referees-in-Training programme will be a continuous exercise.
Chairman of the Football Association, Mr Bayo Olanlege stated this during an interview, following the commencement of the programme at Igede Ekiti.
Mr Olanlege said the screening would hold every two weeks and by the end of November, the kid referees would be handed over to the state Referees Council for further training and recruitment into the Nigeria Referees Association.
He said the exercise would hold in all the local government areas, with Efon Alaaye next on the 4th of October.
The Referees-in-Training programme, meant for youngsters between ages 14 and 17, is an initiative of the Football Association to increase the number of referees in the state and to replace ageing ones.
