Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye, has charged workers in her office to be punctual, diligent and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
The Deputy Governor assured that workers who are hardworking would always be motivated with rewards to ensure effective service delivery.
Chief Afuye made the remarks during her maiden meeting with members of staff of the Office of the Deputy Governor during which a prayer session was also held to usher her into office.
The Deputy Governor charged the workers to make punctuality their watchword as it is part of the civil service rules and regulations expected of them.
She called on workers to shun acts of indiscipline like lateness, gossip, rumour mongering among others also solicited the cooperation of workers which according to her would move the state forward adding that civil servant are the engine room of government.
While stating her readiness to operate an open door policy, the Deputy Governor said all ideas and constructive criticism would be welcomed to add value to the system.
The number two citizen urged civil servants to make prayer their watchword adding that she needed the support of the workers for her to succeed.
Responding on behalf of the staff, the Director of Administration and Supply, Mr. Ayodele Ajayi, assured the Deputy Governor of staff loyalty and dedication to duty and cooperation.
Mr. Ajayi urged the staff of the office to rally round the Deputy Governor in all her activities in the office saying cooperation is what the government demand from staff.
He said civil servants are to be loyal to the government of the day and put in their best within the civil service rules and regulations.
