Ekiti State Government has constituted an inter ministerial committe to facilitate the effective take off and sustainability of the proposed local council development areas (LCDAs)in the state.
Governor Kayode Fayemi who announced this while receiving the report of the committee on the creation of LCDAs said that the inter ministerial committe which would be headed by the Attorney general and commissioner for justice Mr Olawale Fapohunde has three months to submit it’s report
Governor Fayemi directed the inter ministerial committe to review report of the LCDAs committe and propose an appropriate legal frame for the distribution of assets liabilities and personal between existing LGAs and the proposed LCDAS.
Governor Fayemi explained that the creation of the LCDAs was in furtherance of the commitment of his government to justice and fair play for all sections of the state.
He said that the LCDAs would deepen the existing relationship between government and the people as well as enhance rapid development at the grassroots.
Earlier in his remarks the chairman of the LCDAs creation committee Mr Oluwole Segun, said that the committee received a total of twenty six memoranda and also visited the proposed Secretariat for the LCDAs.
