
The Ekiti State Athletics Association has selected 14 athletes who will represent the state at the South West Alliance U-18 Games in Lagos later this month. (March 2025)
The Athletes were selected from a pool of about 100 who stormed the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti for the trials.
Addressing the athletes at the end of the trials, the Director, Individual Sports, Ekiti State Sports Commission, Mr Adekunle Adewumi commended them for their determination and resilience in the races in which they took part, saying the results and attitude indicated their readiness to excel.

Mr Adewumi assured them all that those who made the final list were selected based on merit, as the time they returned in their respective races were used to pick the names.
He advised those who failed to make the list not to be demoralized as there are many future opportunities to represent the state while he enjoined those selected to be disciplined and train hard to excel in Lagos.
The 7 male athletes selected are Ojumu Ayomide, Esan Tosin, Oche Sunday, Adedayo Ayomikun, Sunday Ibitoye, Oguntumibi Oluwaseun and Agbaje Victor .
The girls are Deborah Adeniyi, Ogundare Olajesu, Oyebanji Wura, Oyinloye Oyindamola, Adetomi Adebowale, Saliu Favour and Aregbesola Ayomide .

The Athletes will feature in 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m all male and female and 4 x 400m mixed relay.
The South West Alliance U-18 Games is billed for Lagos between the 25th and 29th of March, 2025.(this month).
In another development, the Ekiti Athletics Association has picked a new date to hold trials for the National Sports Festival.
Initially set for Wednesday, the 19th of March, the trials will now hold on Wednesday, the 2nd of April, 2025 at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.
